CASE STUDY
Flip has been part of EDEKA Südwest’s internal communication for the personnel development of dual students for about a year now. Prior to the use of Flip, the access to internal communication during theory phases at universities was often challenging. In fact, due to the Covid-19 crisis a number of organizational changes had to be made. Flip enabled EDEKA to reach their students easily and inform them quickly about the next steps. On top of that, the app supplements classic channels still widely used in the retail industry such as notice boards or face to face communication with superiors or peers. EDEKA Südwest now uses Flip not only with students but also with trainees and a seminar group in the field of further training and is convinced of the apps’ easy integration and usability.

EDEKA Südwest, based in Offenburg, is the second largest of seven regional EDEKA subsidiaries in Germany. Featuring around 1,200 stores, most of which are operated by independent retailers, EDEKA Südwest has a vast presence in the southwest. The company group, including the independent retail industry, is one of the largest employers and trainers in the region with around 44,000 employees and around 2,850 trainees in over 30 apprenticeships and dual study programs.
"At the beginning we were wondering whether the new tool would really be accepted. But the handling is so intuitive and simple that Flip was used immediately. We think it is an important step in our increasingly digital internal communication strategy."
